This little fishie snack was thrown together for my kids in just a few short minutes. I make a lot of cute food for my kids, but they are still delighted every single time. This was no exception. It was a really easy snack to make and it’s definitely cute! Those are two things I love—quick to prepare and cute! Here are the instructions so you can make one too.

What you’ll need:
• 1 orange
• A handful of blueberries
• 1 strawberry
• 1 baby carrot
• Icing eyes—if you don’t have any, you could use blueberries for the eyes
• A sharp knife

Directions:

1. Slice your orange into thin slices. Place some orange slices on your plate. My kids love peeling the rind off the orange. If your kids don’t like that, you can always peel the orange first before slicing it.

2. Place an icing eye on each slice of orange for an eye. If you don’t have any, you can give your fishie a blueberry eye instead.

3. Using your knife, slice some little mouths out of the strawberry. Place these little mouths on your fishies.

4. Using your knife, slice your baby carrot into thin slices. Place two slices on each fishie for a fish tail.

5. Finally, add some blueberry fish bubbles to the plate.

This is a perfect, refreshing snack for little ones. They’re going to love it!

Be A Sweet Fragrance

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Ephesians 4:32 – 5:1-2 NIV)

We are to imitate God.  We are called to love others.  We are to forgive others.  We don’t have to wait until we are asked to forgive, we are to just forgive because we are forgiven.  We are to walk in the way of love.  Just as Christ gave Himself for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God, so we are to live a life of sweet fragrance to God and others.  Jesus said “”You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5:43-48 NIV)

Where Do You Put Your Trust?

I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory;… In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. (Psalms 44:6, 8 NIV)

Sometimes we think we can do it all by ourselves.  Does that sound like a toddler going through the terrible twos?  It seems we never really grow out of it.  We think we can do it ourselves.  We think that if we have lots of money, nice house, great car, etc. then we will be happy.  Stuff only makes you happy for a short time.  You can never have enough.  When you go through difficult times the “stuff” won’t help.  Trusting in the Lord will give you the hope and strength you need every day, all day, even when you go through difficult life situations.  We can’t trust the stuff in our lives but we can trust our Father in Heaven who gives us confidence, hope, and grace.  We can boast in his righteousness.  The one who covers us with his wings.  He has our back and fights our battles for us.

He Travels With Us

In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out–until the day it lifted. So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels. (Exodus 40:36-38 NIV)

Wow!  What a blessing the Israelites had with God visibly guiding them. His presence guides His people with a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night. There is no doubt that God is love as He seeks intimacy and to reestablish a relationship with us.  We may not see a cloud by day or fire by night like the Israelites did but we do feel his presence with us.  He loves us so much. He wants to have a close relationship with us.  As we continue in his presence reading his word and communicating with him we can have a close relationship with him.
